Hot Yoga
What should I wear?
Ladies, we recommend yoga shorts, capris or yoga pants made of wicking/athletic material (not cotton) and a sports bra with or without a tank. Gents, we recommend athletic shorts with an under liner, made of wicking/athletic material (not cotton). The class is practiced in bare feet. Yoga socks are welcome.
What should I bring?
Yoga Mat Towel (Beach towel or yoga mat towel) Water *We have yoga mats and towels for rent or purchase and water for purchase. The mat and towel rentals are on the house, your first class.
How hot is it?
Gentle stretch classes are 80-85 degrees. Power Flow (faster paced vinyasa) classes are 90-95 degrees. Inferno HIIT! classes are 97 degrees. Some Like it Hot! is 108 degrees.
How should I prepare for Hot Yoga?
Arrive well hydrated and on an empty or light stomach. Drink plenty of water the day before your hot yoga class as well as the day of your class.
When should I avoid the hot room?
You should avoid the hot room if you have a fever, sunburn, hangover or any condition that interferes with your body’s natural ability to cool itself.
Can I practice hot yoga if I’m pregnant?
That is entirely up to you and your doctor. If you have a regular hot yoga practice and become pregnant, with your doctor’s consent and your intuition aligned, you are most welcome to continue your practice. We do not recommend starting a hot yoga practice for the first time during pregnancy.
Yoga Studio General Etiquette & Check-In
What should I do when I arrive?
Take off shoes at the front door and leave them in the trays in the lobby. Self check-in at the front desk on the ipad or see the front desk staff for support. Set cell phones and smart watches/fitness trackers to silent/do not disturb. You may wear smart watches & fitness tracking devices in the studio and during class. Please, no texting during class. Leave cell phones outside of the yoga studio room. Place keys, bags, hats and coats in a cubby in the changing area. For your safety and the safety of everyone, only you, your mat, towel and water are allowed in the yoga room.
When should I arrive for class?
The studio opens 15 minutes prior to class start time. If you are new and need to register, please arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time.
For everyone’s safety, the doors are locked when class starts, so you must arrive on time or you will be locked out.
Should I be quiet in the studio?
Chatting in the yoga room before class is common and welcome as the community connects. Our rule of thumb is to go with the flow. If the space is completely silent and everyone is resting, honor the vibe and relax. If the space is a bit more boisterous, enjoy the community spirit or practice quieting your mind amidst the chaos.
During class and in savasana (rest period), there is no talking.
